Summer Blues

What a long and draining year this has been so far. I knew that I needed to get away for a bit, as the summer blues kick in, to regroup and so I did. Of course, getting out of my apartment is always an opportunity to shoot looks and this one is part of an upcoming Birthday Lookbook video.

I have been eyeing this dress for about a month now as it was all over the internet in yellow, and of course, once I finally decided to get it, it was sold out in the color I wanted. But all is well… it forced me to try a color I would typically NEVER intentionally add to my closet, and that is BLUE.

Plenty of your favorite fast fashion brands were selling this dress but this specific one was from Pretty Little Thing (FR). Looks like it has sold out too 😦 I don’t know if the other brands offer this color option.

Let’s talk about the real star of the show here… this gorgeous and unique clutch from Allure by Aly, a Senegalese brand which specializes in high quality accessories (shoes, bags etc.) for men and women.

The pyramid-heeled sandals are from Ego as almost always. I’ve toned down a lot on buying shoes but I will say that my staples tend to come from that website and from a local store here in Senegal.
