Real-Life Emoji

Woman in red dress poses with one hand on her waist and the other in the air

We’ve probably all used the “red dancing lady” emoji at some point in our digital lives. Well here I am embodying her. This look is part of my upcoming Birthday Lookbook which will be posted on my youtube channel sometime next week (make sure you subscribe to my channel and activate the notifications so you don’t miss it).

If you follow me on instagram, then you probably know that I’m a firm believer in the power of a red dress. I know typically we focus on the little back dress as being a must-have but I subscribe to the idea that nothing beats a red dress. When I saw this dress on Pretty Little Thing, my original concern was that it wouldn’t be as flattering on someone my height, and would probably work better on a taller person. But then I remembered that I live in 6 inch heels anyway.

The slit, the layers, the red.. it all very much gave me Salsa vibes and the dancer in me loved that. The slit is also one of my favorite parts of the dress as it frees up movement and also ensures that I don’t “disappear” in the dress.

The one thing I will say is that the waist could be more synched. Unfortunately, it isn’t so I used this Uterque belt to bring my waist back to life and give more shape to the look. It makes sense with such a deep V-plunge too.

You probably recognize the heels from my previous look and you will be seeing them again for many more looks. They are my current favorites and they literally go with everything.
