What are the must-haves of a black girl disco inspired outfit ?
An afro, bold cat-eye glasses, sequins and platform heels!
These are the 4 things I grabbed when I decided to embody the 21st century disco girl that lives in my head and wakes up whenever I hear some of my favorite disco songs.

A few weeks ago, I received 6 pairs of prescription glasses from Vooglam, and each pair is so unique that I am able to match them with with my range of fashion styles. So with this cat-eye pair, which was the first to catch my eye, I just knew I wanted to be bold and stand out from the crowd.

With the glasses having such a bold frame, they were destined to be star of the show and take the lead on the determining what the color scheme of my outfit would be. So I played with the different shades of brown, nude and orange which are present on the glasses’ frame.

Perfectly accidentally enough, our chosen setting for lunch turned out to be a perfect match to my look’s color scheme. See how my shoes fit right in with the tables and chairs?

In addition to being a throwback disco look this also feels very summer-like and playful, due to the colors but also the high slit on the dress and the shape of my heels.
