This week I had a very important birthday to attend as a dear friend of mine turned 40, and given that this pandemic has literally entirely limited the number of times I get out of my house, this was an opportunity to finally dress up a little. I decided to pull out this blanzer and pant suit I wore to my own birthday last September and gave it the styling it deserves (or so I think 🙂 )

I’ve been getting a little obsessed with lingerie bodysuits lately and I crushed on this baby pink out bought here in Senegal from Maria Doll. I am not exaggerating when I say I’ve been wearing it in every way possible at home because I love how lingerie bodysuits make me feel, but also.. it really doesn’t get more comfortable than that.

I do love to think of myself as a multifaceted woman and I like my style to reflect that. Yes I love looking like a professional business woman, and I equally love not being classic so mixing a suit which in its shape and form is quite classic with a lingerie item gave me the “I mean business but I like to have fun” look I like to go for.

You couldn’t catch me wearing all pink like I did here since 2007 but there’s something about this neon suit that totally invites a pink head-to-toe look, so for old times’ sake, I gave it a go. The silver quilted heeled sandals give it a little, but necessary, pop.

I hesitated about putting my wig in a ponytail but this really was meant to be a girls’ night so we’re definitely letting our hair down. I added a diamante hair clip with the word “Boss”, because hey, if we’re gonna play the part, we better do it right 😉
